Get on with it.

It's been a little while since I wittered on at you all, but it's a rainy Sunday afternoon - so bad luck!

I was just reading my last post, and was realised that I have wasted over a month.....you see, the last time I blogged, I had just hit the four stone mark - a massive achievement, and another mile stone for me.....but almost 6 weeks later, and I've only managed a further measly 4 1/2 lbs!

What a flippin waste. I've gone up and down, and in one week put 4 lb on - I think my mojo, while not gone - has deflated somewhat......

In our IMAGE therapy session (group) this week, our lovely consultant was talking about planning, and asked who of us did it - I threw up my hand, feeling all righteous, after all, every Thursday, straight after group, I go home, trawl through all my books, and cuttings (yes, I have become a recipe nerd) and decide on our dinners (and use the left overs as lunch), that way I only get to go 'off piste' once a day because I get to ad lib on my brekkies. I can stay in control that way. I do my shopping then from the list of ingredients needed.....

....but lately, the weekends have been letting me down. I've been free-styling - and that can only lead to disaster. Ok, so that might be a bit dramatic, as I haven't actually dipped below the 4 stone loss mark, but if I don't sort myself out - I could do......

I've taken a bit of advice from one of the ladies on the SW fb page, who said that, despite being off from work for the next 6 weeks (she's a teacher), she intended to make herself a packed lunch every day to help keep her on track. So I have decided, that I need to do something similar at the weekends, and make sure I plan my breakfast and lunches too.

So, even though my weight has only dropped by 4 1/2 lbs over the last 6 weeks, here are some positives from the same time period:
  • Some 5 weeks in, I have managed to complete day 1 of week 2 of C25K - which means, that I have run for periods of 1 1/2 mins interspersed with brisk walking
  • Dropped at least a dress size - I'm sort of in between sizes now
  • Dropped a shoe size - although they are still like paddles
  • Generally loving exercise - even though it's peeing down, I am still trying to work out, when I can get out for my next walk/run and whether I need to tuck my joggers in my socks :-)
So all in all, some great work, I am sure you will agree - I've just bought a 12 week pass for SW which means that this ends on 8th Oct - so, I intend to have done 6 stone by then - realistically, I could do more - but 6 stone will do me fine........any more will be a massive bonus.
See you next time x

  1. I clicked on the Next Blog link to see who will be next after my blog and landed on your pages.
I read your posts with interest and noticed that you are honest and strong. You remain positive despite challenging circumstances. I want you to know that I fully understand when use term challenging circumstances. I was obese and couldn't lose weight. For some people weigh loss is extremely difficult to achieve. I have seen posts indicating desperation and emotional, as well as, physical suffering because of unwanted weight. Good luck.
