It all started out so well

This picture says it all really. And how true is it? If I could only live my weigh loss life by this philosophy, I'd be, well, losing weight.

This week has started off really well, lots of chicken, loads of superfoods (fruit and veg) and I even had a slither (ok, it was a bit more than a slither) of home made cake on Tuesday, so as not to feel left out and deprived in a team meeitng. Last night was a bit rubbish, I think the OH is trying to sabotage my efforts, as he had made a pasta bake (which would've been fine had it not had marscapone cheese and chorizo in it, oh yeah, and lashings of cheese on top) belive it or not, he is also meant to be following SW! I did at least bulk my plate out with loads of salad greens.

Then today, I have been ok - started off really well with a full English (allowed if cooked properly and no sausages) this morning, quite a feat and a feast before work, so consequently I wasn't hungry. Then come 3pm, I suddenly realised that I hadn't had any lunch, so I went to the shop and bought a salad (fine) some grapes (excellent, I hear you cry) and a Milky Way, with the full intention of only eating one of the little bars (well within my syns for the day) but I ate the whole thing. I came home and still not really hungry, ate an omelette and salad (all ok, except for the not been hungry bit) followed by about 5 Babybel lights. That in itself, wouldn't have been too disasterous if I hadn't have then followed it with about 1/2 a bag of honey roast peanuts with chocolate lumps in it.

Ohhhhhhh, why do I sabotage myself - anyone would think I actually enjoyed carting this bulk around and having all my clothes dig in me. :-(

But in the spirit of the picture, tomorrow is a new day, I'll take the dog out on a couple of good runs, and hopefully mimalise the damage done.

Weigh in 1.1

It was with some trepidation that I got on the sales at SW tonight. I hadn't been for about 6 weeks, and prior to that had only managed one visit since Christmas.

I knew I had put on quite significantly, as my jeans were gripping my thighs when I sat down, and my belt had to be let out a notch generally, but undone completely after my evening meal. Bad times!

So, the damage? I had put on half a stone. Which means in total, from when I initially started with SW, I had lost, in total, 19lbs, and have put 12lb back on. The only positive I can draw from this is that at least I didn't put it all back on. Still,as a rather fab singer once said ....'it's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me, and I'm feeling good'.....

Well, well, well ! (that's the story of three wells)

So, yes, dear reader, you have probably gathered, I haven't so much fallen from the wagon, as launched myself from it in a giant catapult.

If I'm honest, I'm not really sure what happened - nothing specific, I just lost the will to live with it all really. I think (wait for it, the excuses are coming) that there are a couple of contributing factors.....

I, apparently, have a bit of an obsessive trait to my personality, in so much as I am an all or nothing kind of gal. This holds absolutely, when I am trying to lose weight, and in the past, I have joined gyms, bought expensive new trainers etc etc, only to use them a handful of times, and then I'm bored and BAM - it all goes to pot :-(

When I started SW this time, I really got into it initially - really finding it quite easy to follow, and stick to, as in essence it's all about eating good food, that isn't processed, and that is no real chore. So I set up the Runkeeper app on my phone, although for me, it should probably be called Stroll-keeper - and as I can log into it at home on the old laptop, I can monitor  how I am improving, where I am going etc. I also did my weekly shop on line, so as not to be tempted, by all the lovely food and bakery smells, I planned my meals for the week and I used SW's website to keep a track of what I was eating and when, and to monitor my weight loss. I even took to taking god-awful photo's of me in my chewing gum grey bra and pants, purely for my own 'amusement' so that hopefully I would see the fat go down, month by month, as on someone my size, even a stone weight loss, is not actually that noticeable. Oh, and we had also had a new puppy, who would need walking, so all was good.

Then, disaster struck, along with my general growing apathy towards weight loss, not that I don't want to do it, but I couldn't be bothered to make the effort, then a couple of things happened. Harvey our puppy managed to break his leg, so lots of staying at home and keeping him amused and quiet, then my laptop met an untimely near fatal accident (it was 'puppied') and had to have new innards, so that stopped me blogging (which helps) and all the associated apps and monitoring that I like to do. So what do I do when disaster strikes - yep you've guessed it - stuff my blummin' cake hole.

So what's changed over the last few months then - well, Harvey is all fixed now, and full of energy, so he needs walking lots, as he drives us insane otherwise, my laptop is all fixed, and ready for my  monitoring obsession to commence and most noticeably, my belt buckle, which was on the smallest hole, and that was struggling to keep my trews up, has snuck back up a couple of notches and my ankles are back to swelling up most days now :-(

So, here's to SW tomorrow night and to  getting back on that wagon. I'll get weighed tomorrow, shopping is ordered - walks are planned, fingers crossed people, strap in, no doubt it will be a bumpy ride. xx
